Lollipop Raindrops

I feel like a teenager fumbling around on a first date.  The only experience you have is that from which you learned from an ‘R’ rated movie you watched while at a friend’s slumber party when you were 12…after her parents went to bed.

I’m from Open Diary, where changing your ‘theme’ was quite simple.  No HTML or CSS or needing a hosting site before uploading a new look.  The point and click options were quite powerful with many choices and ‘navigate to’ boxes that did all the hard work for you!   I’ve been there since it first started many, many years ago having had many, many diaries, lol.   I’m going to get this thing figured out before I unload here because I am a girl and I like my things to look pretty ;) if I am going to be spending a lot of time with them.  So, you may be asking why I left OD if I liked it so much.

I did/do like the user friendliness of it.  But it is a small community and as I told a good friend of mine, it is like living in the same neighborhood for a long time and just getting…tired…of your street.  Sure, you will miss a neighbor (or two) that has become a great friend, but in general, you’re ready for a new city.  New places to eat and shop at.  New faces to smile at and new people to possibly get to know.

And the best thing about it all?  You can be a new yourself too.  Actually, you can start over with *being* yourself and seeing how that goes, for a change.  No more wearing superimposed masks on your face as you walk down the sidewalk waving to a familiar face; similar to a pretty, cheery bright umbrella that’s only job is to keep you safe from the brutal, unpleasant harsh reality of the storm.  “Keep under me and I shall keep you from the damages of the truth!” it comforts to you.

I will not own an umbrella while I am here; I am ready for the truth of myself.  And ready to show that to others without worrying if their umbrella is up or not.

Now, it’s time for me to take out my learning supplies and get frustrated.  Over and over and over again.  :D   It’s ok, it’s good for the soul.
